The 2017 Maserati Levante sport luxury utility vehicle debuts this March at the Geneva Auto Show. The Levante carries the signature Maserati design known for luxury and performance.

Luxury sports car brand Maserati will unveil its first SUV, the 2017 Levante, at the upcoming 86th Geneva International Motor Show March 3-13 of 2016. The Levante will be available in European dealerships this spring with the rest of the world’s dealerships, including Maserati Auto Gallery, receiving the Levante shortly after.

The Levante SUV is the first of its kind in the brand’s history that spans a century. The Levante name carries historical significance, as it is named after Via Emilia Levante in Bologna, the place where the Maserati brothers created their company in the early 1900s.

With the new midsize SUV, Maserati can now capture a new audience and greatly expand its market. The Maserati lineup currently includes the existing range of saloon and sports cars with the Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio models. The midsize Levante will now compete with other high-end SUVs and crossovers, such as the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X6, Bentley Bentayga, and Jaguar F-Pace. I wonder how these compare and contrast with the family friendly Nissan Rogue?

The Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy, is where the first Maserati Levantes were built. Production will continue from this location.

Levante: The Crown Prince of SUVs Will Arrive at the Maserati Auto Gallery

The Levante’s design leaves no room for question that it belongs to Maserati with its distinctive Italian character. Three iconic air vents on the front wings, a trapezoidal C-pillar with the “Saetta” logo, and large, frameless door windows are clear representations of Maserati’s signature architecture.

Styling cues from the Ghibli and Quattroporte are evident in the Levante’s high-performance sports car aura with a streamlined shape and tapered back window. An aggressive front end features the Maserati trademark Trident face flanked by tapered headlights separated into two elements, with the upper headlight unit connected to the radiator grille.
