Convertibles have never been the go-to choice for enthusiasts, since the lack of a roof compromises the car’s handling capabilities and performance. However, Ferrari found a way to make a track-ready supercar also a high-performance cruiser with the Ferrari 458 Spider. When the 458 Spider came out, Ferrari’s message was clear: this is the do-it-all, naturally-aspirated V-8 supercar for those that want everything.
At The Auto Gallery, we’re thrilled to have a 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider in stock. For those that are familiar with supercars, there isn’t anything left to say.
The Ferrari 458 Spider’s Specs Command Respect
After one look at the Ferrari 458 Spider, it’s easy to see how this supercar is different from the other high-performance convertibles on the market. The gorgeous body of the coupe is still apparent, but the supercar looks even more incredible with roof off. Just like the coupe, the 458 Spider retains the same aggressive flat nose, iconic three-pipe exhaust outlet, and wide profile that the supercar has become known for. The aluminum hardtop only takes 14 seconds to go up or down and is completely hands free.
To ensure that the 458 Spider is potent on and off the track, Ferrari managed to keep the convertible’s weight down to just 110 lbs. more than the coupe’s, while the entire structure is only 30-percent less rigid. The upside to all of this is the ability to hear the 458 Spider’s glorious V-8 engine, which has received a few vocal tweaks for an even better sound. Ferrari gave the supercar different mufflers and baffles for a crisper sound with the roof down — something purely Ferrari.
A supercar that looks and sounds this good must have an impressive powertrain, and the 458 Spider doesn’t disappoint. Here’s what the supercar is capable of:
- 5-liter direct-injected, naturally aspirated V-8
- Seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission
- 570 hp @ 9,000 rpm
- 398 lb.-ft. of torque @ 6,000 rpm
- 3,384 lbs. curb weight rating
- 0—60 mph in 3.3 seconds
- 205 mph top track speed
No other supercar gives drivers a raw, thrilling ride with the push of a throttle and the same cruising ability as the 458 Spider.
2014 Ferrari 458 Spider Won’t Stay Still
The Auto Gallery is absolutely thrilled to have a 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider in stock. The supercar is one that is characterized by numbers, and here are a few more that are important. The 458 Spider only has 11,246 miles. The supercar is still backed by the factory warranty until 8/29/16 and has a full maintenance plan until 8/29/2020!
If the 458 Spider isn’t pretty enough on its own, the supercar is finished in a historical Grigio Scuro exterior with a black exterior that’s accented by red stitching. The supercar is equipped with:
- Yellow brake calipers
- Rear parking sensors and rear parking camera
- 20-inch forged diamond rims
- High-power Hi Fi sound system
- And much more
While the 458 Spider is an open-top supercar, it has the performance to keep up with track-only machines, while providing passengers with a comfortable and thrilling ride that only Ferrari is known for.
