Learn the History, Watch the Progress: The Porsche 911 Turbo is a Champion and a Classic

The Porsche 911 Turbo is a winner.

When the 911 Turbo steps to the starting line, it takes an immediate poise that demonstrates a readiness to devour the road. A low guttural engine note conveys calm, confidence, and capability. As a reigning champion and multi-year favorite, the Turbo has built some character: a pre-owned may have some wear on the tires and miles on the dash; a new model may appear revitalized and refined. Regardless, there’s a certain undeniable quality that makes people gravitate to it.

For those drivers who prefer the classics, a 1975 model year, wearing its badge of originality, may seem most appealing. After all, this is the top-of-the-range in the 911 model line. But there’s also the newer versions, a younger Targa or Cabriolet body type. Depending on the year, drivers may relish a 4-speed manual transmission or, perhaps, have been gifted with the 5-speed version.

At the starting line, the Porsche 911 Turbo generates a presence on the road—maybe it’s the Turbo’s flared rear wings or twin tailpipe. Or it might be what lies beneath the hood that evokes that thrill, knowing full well the capabilities of the Turbo’s equipment, achieving anywhere from 260 horsepower to 300 horsepower contingent upon the model year.

At the finish line, the Porsche 911 Turbo, emblazoned proudly with “PORSCHE’ on the tail-light panel, once again acquires the title of champion. Of winner.

The Porsche 911 Turbo is a treasured classic car.

Gut that doesn’t mean new models can’t bring new advantages. The Auto Gallery is giving the people more of what they want, and that means a new and improved 911 Turbo.

Modern Porsche 911 Turbo vehicles amplify power and incorporate electronics to deliver two different levels of ultimate speed. The twin tailpipe of the original 911 Turbo becomes a twin-turbo six-cylinder rear engine in contemporary vehicles, almost doubling the horsepower of the original Turbo.

Whether your heart lies with the classics, or you have a need for contemporary speed, head over to The Porsche Auto Gallery Woodland Hills to check out the inventory and get behind the wheel of the sports car that’s the right fit for you.
