Maserati Design Exalted by Museum Exhibit

Petersen Museum in Los Angeles

Sponsored by The Auto Gallery, Maserati presents “Made in Italy – Design to Line” at the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Maserati has enjoyed its station as one of the most vaunted automotive marques in history. With more than a century of prodigious engineering and design, this Italian brand has earned the privilege of a museum exhibition.

After undergoing a total transformation, the Petersen Automotive Museum has partnered with Maserati to offer an immersive experience to discover the science and creativity that serves as the foundation of this brand’s sui generis of look, sound, and feel. At the center of this exhibit is the flagship sedan, the Quattroporte S Q4.

President and CEO of Maserati North America, Inc., Christian Gobber believes the display makes “perfect sense from both global and local perspectives, given that the museum is located in Los Angeles, at the very heart of car culture.”

At the Time of Design, Each Maserati Starts as a Vision

It isn’t happenstance that each Maserati achieves a status of modern art. Each line is the product of inspiration, carefully placed in a sequence that captures an aesthetic of fluid movement. But the arresting profile isn’t the only triumph of the brand’s lineup: innovative technology perfectly fuses with the masterful craftsmanship of Italian artificers.

That aspiration—the evocation of passion—is what makes the Petersen exhibit so compelling. It tells the story of this cycle transforming beautiful abstraction into physical perfection.

Nothing embodies this perfection more than the Quattroporte, a four-door sedan boasting a menacing race engine, premium luxuries, and Italian panache. Today’s sixth-generation Quattroporte carries on this lineage established in 1963, which this pedigree has also yielded legendary wins at the Indianapolis 500 and Formula 1 while being helmed by Juan Manuel Fangio.

The Maserati Quattroporte bears the Trident that achieves what most brands only hope to … be unforgettable.

Find the Quattroporte S Q4 Exhibit on the Museum’s Second Floor

Situated prominently on the second floor of the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Auto Gallery’s dedicated Maserati gallery takes onlookers through the process of concept to manufacture in a series of five steps:

  1. Raw Materials
  2. Body Shell
  3. Drivetrain
  4. Trims and Finishes
  5. Final Product

With its body laid bare to the world, the brand’s pursuit of excellence rests quietly on display in clay, leather, steel, and pure emotion. It is the quintessential recognition of Maserati’s transcendence as a high-performance automobile.
