The second installment of Porsche’s new online TV series takes viewers on a ride filled with scenery of Porsche’s history, inner workings, and one accomplished driver.
“Pure,” the title and theme of the second episode of the new 9:11 Magazine, features four short segments that are equal parts educational and entertaining.
The first chapter of the episode introduces viewers to Dr. Erik Brandenburg. Dr. Brandenburg has been driving a Porsche in rally car competitions for more than three decades and has built over 20 modified Porsche 911 cars during that time. The doctor’s feats are well known within the Porsche community, including his river crossings in a modified 911.
Next, viewers are treated to a unique look at the inner workings of a Carrera 3.2 engine. A stop-motion time-lapse film shows a complete teardown of this iconic Porsche engine in a way you’ve never seen before. Approximately 2,000 still photographs were taken of the engine teardown process and put into a film that gained YouTube stardom.
The third chapter in the episode opens Porsche’s historical archives for a glimpse at the two kilometers of files, five million photographs, five-thousand hours of film footage, and even some of Ferdinand Porsche’s original personal documents.
Finally, viewers are taken inside the secret car warehouse at the Porsche museum in Stuttgart, Germany, courtesy of a visually stunning hyperlapse video. This rare visit provides a peek inside the 100,000 square-foot facility that operates under strict security and control.
The 9:11 Magazine is an online TV series that serves as a supplement to Porsche’s Christophorus magazine and also to the Porsche Newsroom and its collection of blogs and social media. “Pure” is the second of two episodes now available for viewing, and there are more on the way. The series will highlight new cars in the Porsche lineup, provide educational material on the history of the manufacturer, and entertain viewers with human interest stories pertaining to Porsche.
